The Beatles really entered the lexicon of British culture with A Hard Day's Night. The film it is culled from became one of the documents of early-mid 60s British optimism, a world embracing new ideas but still overtly traditionalist.
The hits on the soundtrack are like pre-punk, hormone inflaming bullets: "Can't Buy Me Love," "A Hard Day's Night," plus some timely Lennon-McCartney ballads.
