Leisure is the debut album by Blur, released in 1991, and captures the band before they fully defined their Britpop identity. Rooted in the Madchester, baggy, and shoegaze-influenced UK indie scene of the early ’90s, the album features hazy grooves, danceable rhythms, and youthful energy, highlighted by early singles like “There’s No Other Way” and “She’s So High.” While it received mixed reviews at the time, Leisure is often viewed as an important snapshot of Blur in transition, showing early promise and setting the stage for their later, more distinctive sound.
